We’re looking for a Senior Android App Developer who has operated at the highest levels of mobile engineering to help lead and scale our Android platform.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re a senior-level Android engineer with experience building and shipping high-quality consumer applications at scale. You’ve worked in environments with strong engineering culture, high standards for performance and reliability, and complex product requirements. You bring a product-first mindset, deep technical expertise, and the ability to influence architecture and long-term engineering direction.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of Loot’s native Android application

• Build scalable, maintainable Android solutions using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks

• Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and data teams to ship polished features

• Translate complex financial and business requirements into simple, intuitive mobile experiences

• Own critical areas of the codebase and drive long-term technical decisions

• Set and uphold high standards for code quality, testing, performance, and security

• Review code and mentor other engineers, raising the bar for mobile engineering

• Ensure best-in-class performance, accessibility, and adherence to Android design guidelines

• Support Play Store releases, monitoring, and ongoing optimization

What You’ll Need

• 7+ years of professional Android development experience

• A proven track record of shipping production Android apps used by large audiences

• Experience working at top-tier consumer or enterprise technology companies, such as:

  • Meta, Google, Amazon, Netflix

  • Robinhood, Acorns, Stripe, Square, Coinbase, Airbnb, Uber, or similar

• Deep expertise in Kotlin (Java experience a plus) and Android SDKs

• Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)

• Experience with modern Android tooling and frameworks (Jetpack, Compose, Room, Coroutines)

• Experience integrating with complex backend systems and APIs

• Familiarity with high-reliability or regulated environments (fintech experience is a plus)

• Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and influence technical direction

• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating cross-functionally

Bonus Points

• Experience building or scaling fintech, banking, or payments applications

• Jetpack Compose experience in production environments

• Experience leading or mentoring other mobile engineers

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management

• Background in performance optimization, security, or mobile infrastructure
