These Dogs Give People Their Independence Back | No Small Jobs
Training service dogs is more than just teaching "sit" and "stay". Hundreds of hours of work that go into building a dog who can give someone back their independence. Meet Dawn Scott, owner of Errorless Service Dogs, a small business with 11 locations nationwide that trains dogs for mobility, psychiatric, and visual support using 100% positive reinforcement. Through her nonprofit, Anne's Angels Coalition, Dawn has also placed 7 fully trained service dogs, completely free, with people who otherwise couldn't afford one. In this episode, Dawn walks Luke (our co-founder) through her training process, from socializing 8-week-old puppies to the four phases of AKC certifications, demonstrating real mobility tasks like forward momentum and stair work along the way. From puppy play in the snow to the precise, life-changing skills these dogs learn, it's a look at what it truly takes to put a service dog into the hands of someone who needs one. With support from Loot, Dawn has the flexibility to cover emergency vet bills and ride out the slower winter months without missing a beat.
